Remember this? Well, I know I told you the mystery would be solved next Spring, but that should tell you how much I know about growing roses. To be exact: I know precisely 3% of all that there is to know.
It seems that $5 surprise rose bushes are just itching to bloom.
They're in a race against the clock to see who can win my deepest affections.
Some seem to think I'm the thoughtful, demure, romantic type.
Others are gambling that I'm loud and rowdy and a little lusty.So far, it's a four-way tie for the lead...and Cinco de Mayo and Hot Cocoa haven't even left the gate. (They're playing hard to get.)
If this doesn't count as a Metamorphosis, I just don't know what does.
Beautiful roses. I'd love to see this rose garden when it is filled in. It will be wonderful!

An honest-to-goodness metamorphosis! Isn't it amazing that such a mean-looking plant (thick stems, awful thorns) could produce such incredibly beautiful flowers?? You may only know 3% of what there is to know about roses, but it looks like you've got a knack for growing them. Good for you! They're gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHoney, yes this is a metamorphosis! I count myself as a halfway decent gardener, and here in Texas we've had some horrid heat. I don't have even ONE single rose blooming! Yours are gorgeous!

ReplyDeleteWhat a fun surprise! I hope you are better with roses than I was. I ended up pulling all of mine out because those nasty beatles loved them so much and I couldn't get rid of them.
