I got the chance to sneak out for lunch with my main squeeze and he took my to the most fabulous new place, Kelly Jae's Cafe, found in good ol' Goshen. Tapas by night, amazing soup/salad/sandwich fare by day.

Outdoor seating!

Fresh daily specials.

A mini topiary on each table.

Tin ceiling. Exposed brick wall. Hardwood floors. Locker baskets for pendant light fixtures. (Brilliant!)

The half-wall that partitions the kitchen from the main space is lined with large mirrors, which reflected light beautifully and created a more open feel. Check out the cow hide in the reflection.

Birch limbs covered in white lights along both main walls. I wanted to stay forever.

Cobb Salad. Wipe your chins, ya'll are drooling.

After our quick lunch, I skipped right around the corner to one of my favorite haunts, Home Again.

This place rocks my socks off. Look at those chairs dangling precariously from the rafters! Often I arrive to Johnny Cash blaring from old-school speakers.

This chippy table was
still there. Is it a sign?

It sits on casters, so I'm thinking it's
definitely a sign.
Can it really be Friday again already? Check out some fun 4th of July ideas

What a great new place in Goshen. Look at those neat Indiana Hickory dining chairs! Pretty hip there. I am originally from Michigan City and I have family in So. Bend. Joers Flooring is my uncle. Hello. Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving your nice comment about my garden Junk.

Is that Goshen NY? We lived in an old barn (turned into a house) near there. Looks like a great restaurant! And that table...well, yes indeedy it is calling your name!! Buy me buy me.
What fun- great lunch and shopping too- life doesn't get any better than that- and I'm jealous... that antique store is to die for- things are kind of "dry" in our area.
Thanks for sharing

That restaurant looked like my kind of place. I love twinkly lights. They are just so pretty and that Home Again store...devine!
Love your new header flower by the way. Have a great 4th.
I think that table is ready to roll home with you. :)
Love the restaurant decor -- the brick wall, the birch trees, the ceiling, the floors....
Wow, that consignment store is packed with stuff!! If you love that table, then you should buy it -- especially because it keeps sending you "buy me" signs!! :-)

I absolutely LOVE your blog!! I need to spend some more time on your blog (the 4th weekend is interfering with my computer time, ha). It looks like you are adoptive parents?? My son is adopted from Russia. I would love to chat sometime...we've been thinking about adopting again. Anyway, I will keep visiting...glad to find you! XOXO
BTW, I am linking you to my blog!
I love those kinds of restaurants. That one looks yummy!!!!!!!! Hey that table looks like a shade of blue you'd like. :o)
I love that table and it screams Shannan to me...so it's meant to be :) I need to go back soon and see if my chair is still there (my fingers are crossed).
Also, that restaurant that cory took you to looks divine.
What a sensational day! Oh, and I'm so hungry now having looked at that wonderful cafe.
Wow, I'm so glad I found your blog. I live just around the corner in Mishawaka, now I know where to shop and get a bite to eat next time I'm in Goshen. By the looks I'll be there next week! thanks
I've been wanting to try that place. We never got the chance to eat there when it was Blue Gill. The food looks great! I just love Goshen. Try it on first Fridays--it's a blast.
Love your blog. I long to live out in the country. What a wonderful cafe. Hope you had a great fourth.
