(Squint your eyes and I swear this picture looks like a quasi-famous folk art painting that I can't quite place.)
I have no agenda (other than the hope of meeting my all-time favorite celebrity, but I'll save that for another day). I feel no pressure to be thematic and organized. (You hadn't noticed?)
I have full autonomy in determining the appropriate number of parenthetical statements for any particular post. (I'm thinking I could use a few more here...)
I am the ruling authority on whether or not to show you my recent "Snack of Shame", which is really not shameful at all, but which will probably cause some of you to question my culinary opinion moving forward.
I can affect a Southern twang at will, and for no apparent reason, ya'll.
Freedom is truly the cat's meow.

I know where that top photo comes from, perfect shot - looks like a good print for a puzzle :) I have drove by a corn bin? that looks like a perfect picture for Shannan Martin. Remind me sometime and I'll tell you where it's located ;)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fall photos!
You're a creative writer!
ReplyDeleteIf this is the view for Fall I am moving to ?? can't remember the name of your cute little town....but only for Fall because this Floridian can't handle the snow ALL THE TIME.
ReplyDeleteOn a side note, I love that your blog has a little bit of everything, it's always a surprise :o)
Btw, love the pics of "Dr. Lee", he is too cute!!!

ReplyDelete-FringeGirl
HEY!! Get in a category missy!!! ;-) j/k
ReplyDeleteat least you're not in the complaining/whiny person category like me.
Great blog! Full of wonderful words and photos, Have a sweet day!
ReplyDeleteThose are the best kind of blogs... the real ones....
ReplyDeleteI understand...I just do my own thing whenever I want, if I want. No agendas...no real plans. It just happens. I like it that way. Mumzie :)
ReplyDeleteHow could you leave us in suspense...famous person you would like to meet and the hopefully very unhealthy but very delish snack time treat...what gives....Post it already!
ReplyDeleteHi Shannan! Per usual, love everything you write -- categorized or not! Had to read all the way to where I left off last time. Thanks for the nice comments on our blog. Sorry about Wednesday, but will look forward to seeing you next week. xo
ReplyDeleteWho says a blog has to have a category?? I love your blog just like it is, as long as you enjoy blogging that's all that counts!Your pic's are beautiful Shannan(;
ReplyDeleteHugs~Kelly
On my bloglines I have you categorized as a Farmhouse Blog. Of course that in no way requires you to be anything other than what you are. Just sayin.
ReplyDeleteSo. 7 little 'ol days til our reunion...can't wait!!!!
LOVE YOUR PICS! I love your blog because it is for me all things Midwestern and there is absolutely NOTHING better! I love love love seeing your photos and everything else you share...you normal! Most of us aren't categorizationized *wink* it is just the world telling us we need to be that throws us off! Keep on Keeping on! You are a blessing to this misplaced Buckeye!

ReplyDeleteI'm SUCH A HUGE DORK! I thought I clicked on a different blog and I commented as if you were that person. At least I caught my mistake right away! Well I love your blog and the pictures in this one are beautfiul. It's completely, uniquely you.
ReplyDeleteThat's how I feel about my blog too. Just do and say what you please. For me, it would be too much pressure and quite honestly not that much fun for me to have to talk about the same thing every day. Anyways, I love your blog...you're witty and fun.
ReplyDeleteAlso, that top picture of the little school house/church....EVERY TIME I drive past it I want to stop and take pictures. I love it. It's just perfect. I love the picture you took, it's gorgeous.
I LOVE this post and it is exactly how i feel about my blog. No direction, no category and no agenda.....just me!
ReplyDeleteI like you and your blog just the way you are! Don't change a thing!
ReplyDeletedon't want to interrupt here but big question ... should Cory and I start a blog about Remote Controlled Helicopters? Sound like a good niche?
ReplyDeleteHi! I popped over here from Farm Girl Paints. Just wanted to say that I enjoyed your posts! I'm with you on being a miscellany kinda blogger! :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Well, I think your blog is quite fabulous! Variety is the spice of life, as they say. It would be boring to talk about the same thing every day. I don't want all decorating...or all cooking. Just keep being you, that is what we all keep coming back! ;o) ~mary~
ReplyDeleteYou're the "make us laugh til our sides hurt" blogger! Which is probably the best kind!!
ReplyDelete:) T
You are a photo blogger though, and a darn good one.
ReplyDeleteThat house photo does look like a painting of Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz's house!
ReplyDeleteI bet we'd have fun at a kids 'play date' because we wouldn't schedule it, and wouldn't have the 'right' snacks, or be pre-pared with diggers. We'd have met there because we won't be categorized! or organized! or live within a driving distance to make a playdate worth it, or need one because we'd be working on enjoying the 'great outdoors' in our own backyards.... :0) haha. Love your blog - don't change. I come to your blog to enjoy whatever the day has brought! and the beautiful mid-western scenery with precious children, and friendly faces... Have a super weekend!
ReplyDeleteDefying categorization and being free to do whatever you want are very good things :-)
ReplyDeleteYou have me curious about who your favourite celebrity is :-)
I way over-use exclamation points and smileys, so you won't get any argument from me about how many parentheses you choose to use :-) Have fun, use lots of them!! :-)

I love your blog! We are kindred spirits:-) I just started a blog yesterday. I was completely inspired by all these blogging women here. I wanted to be like them(you) and was feeling a little inferior so I thought I would take a leap of faith and start a blog....so I could be just like you gals! We will see what happens with that!:-) I think your are a photography blogger. I'm not sure you need a point when you take pictures like that! I have only read your latest post so far but wow! your photos are amazing! Hope you don't mind if I check back every so often to see whats new.
ReplyDeleteI love the picture at the top of your post. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteFreedom to blog about whatever you like does sound pretty great. I'm a little jealous! :-)
Just wait until you have me just around the corner, you will be able to do posts about canning, raising chickens, and having our own miniture milk cow business!! I found the perfect chicken coup too. I am already doing some on line chicken shopping(can you believe it,I think I found my nitch as far as shopping goes).
ReplyDeleteyour photos are beautiful..... so glad i found your blog....ann
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog. I like the randomness that you describe. I find that I blog a lot like that too!
ReplyDeleteLove the photos ;-0
ReplyDeleteThat is why we all love visiting...you are you!!! Gorgeous photos. I could step in and stay in most of them. I loved the music too. Hope you are having a great weekend.
ReplyDelete...and THAT is why I love coming to visit, my friend. I always enjoy reading about whatever you want to blog about. No need for categorization.:)

I'm not even gone a week and I've missed so much! You're killing me here!
ReplyDeleteI don't care what you write about (and apparantly no one else does either).
Honored to know you.
Love ya!
That's why yours is one of my favorites!
ReplyDeleteOk, I'm a little late posting a comment on this one, but....as you know, I've been knee deep in The Twilight Saga! Anyway, you want to know what is ticking me off about Fall right now? I'll tell ya...it's November, Halloween is passed and people are starting to talk turkey and lament the Christmas shopping season. And you know what? It's going to be 95 degrees here tomorrow. THAT is what is ticking me off about Fall. Enough already. Really!!
ReplyDeleteOk. That made me feel better. Love the pictures, even if you are a little bitter at Mother Nature. :-)
I love your blog the way it is! My blog is all about mixing it up too. I'm not crafty and can't cook, but I have a crazy 4 yr old that makes for great blog fodder! I also blog about a little of everything else. Even cooking, although one of my posts contained photos of grill cheese & sloppy joes :)
ReplyDeleteYou're an inspirational blogger. I just started blogging two weeks ago and I do feel a little confined by my "theme." You're inspiring me to loosen up a little bit...thanks!
