And we were typically a few minutes late when it was just the two....
But still, it was Easter and all. The weather was amazing. The kids were all wearing church shoes.
The occasion required pictures.
Even though we were already running late.
I was still inside, probably chugging grapefruit juice from the jug and grabbing my make up bag to make myself look presentable during the 15 minute car ride.
What I'm trying to say is, I was no help with the pics. It was all up to Cory.
And from the looks of things, he could've used some help.
(I would really like to know what Cory was doing/saying right then to warrant the mass look of bewilderment.)
Not with my oldest...he pretty much maintains this look for all 16 frames.
And not with my youngest...he's still just confused by the feel of the ground beneath his feet.
This one has permanent ants in her pants.
She's a clown. With a dash of diva stirred in.

Precious!!! Great job, Cory!
ReplyDeletethose are waaaaay to cute!
ReplyDeletehilarious! looks very familiar!!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad I ran to the computer during a commercial break on DWTS ... I seriously busted up laughing when I saw the 'ants in the pants' picture. LOL Ruby is has actress written all over her future ;) Love the faces. BTW, they were all adorable on Sunday.
ReplyDeleteI love the last picture. The whole sequence tells a story that is way too funny.
ReplyDeleteLOVE these pictures! I'm cracking up over here, my almost 3 year old doesn't know what the heck it means when we say smile she makes the most awkward faces and all of our pictures of her come out with some crazy expressions like adorable Miss Ruby.
ReplyDeleteLove those photos!! They are all soooo cute:)
ReplyDeletehahaha your kids are so cute! And yes your middle seems like she's full of character! I am glad you had a wonderful Easter!
ReplyDeleteI only have two and it's amazing if I can get the little stinkers to both look at the camera at the same time.
ReplyDeleteIf they're both smiling, it's an absolute miracle.
hahaha OH MY WORD!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE the picture where your "middle" is dancing!!! Ruby's rockin it out in her Sunday's best. LOVE IT! I literally LOLed! (And really, how often can you say you actually lol when you type lol?? Am I right?!).
Thanks for sharing these. I think Cory should go into photography, I'm sure he'd bring lots of smiles to peoples faces. Your kids crack me up :)
I am laughing sooooo very hard because they are so stinkin' cute and I couldn't think of any better pictures of them because those are the pictures that are the cutest and most memorable!!!
ReplyDelete...your kiddos are beyond adorable, beautiful, and handsome!
That is so awesome. Great photos!!!
ReplyDeleteSami G.
#4 is, by far, my favorite!
ReplyDeleteSuch sweet pictures. I love sister's expressions. Such a girl with those moods. I have two girls with those moody moments.
ReplyDeleteHope you are sleeping better now.

So cute. When we take pictures of the grandchildren lined up on the couch they come out like these. When you look back they are so funny. Love yours. Such cuties.
ReplyDeleteToo Funny!!
ReplyDeleteTHey are so adorable!!
So very cute!!
ReplyDeleteMikal :)
What a priceless set of photos! You need to print them all as though they were from a little photo booth. It would be a sweet treasure to have framed and bring out each Easter. I do that with a few pictures...and it's so fun! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's official...'ants in the pants' is hysterical. Laughed Out Loud!
ReplyDeleteThis is the funniest thing I've seen in a while Shan - so much better than staged 'good' Easter shot. I love your kids!
ReplyDeleteThey are the sweetest kids ever! That Ruby is hysterical.
ReplyDeleteAll I keep thinking is how confusing thimust be for Silas. A new land, great new parents, who he doesn't understand. I am sure Calvin is putting in his two cents and then Ruby. Please have a month of Silas' settling in. With each post he is more in this moment, in the Indiana moment. LOVE YOU SOOOO MUCH COUS (and family)!
ReplyDeleteLaughed the whole way through!!! The one with her legs apart is the best!!!! What WAS your husband saying to them???? Thanks for the laugh!
ReplyDeleteHahaha!!! LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteSOOOOOO CUTE!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulate yourself on getting pictures! I got coordinating outfits for everyone, all 6 of us and no family or kid pictures at all! Great Job daddy!
ReplyDeleteCute pictures- and I am totally laughing over your commentary. I can never get my youngest to look at the camera- so frustrating. My oldest is a diva, too, always has to pose. They're adorable pictures.
ReplyDeleteGood for Ruby for not slipping quietly into middle child oblivion. I have a feeling she will never get lost in the shuffle. Awesome pics, Cory!
ReplyDeletethose.are.awesome! happy belated easter to you, too.
ReplyDeleteOh my lordy. The grudge picture is priceless. You should frame it and put in your house. So funny. Happy Easter yesterday. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a hoot!

ReplyDeletelove the pics I cant quit smiling!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow! I am pretty much in love with the "Plastic Surgery Smile!" Bless Cory for trying to get a good picture! Your family really is adorable!
ReplyDeleteYour kiddos are absolutely perfect in every way!
ReplyDeleteHaahahahahahahahahahah really funny and too cute. I'm glad we are all in the same boat! When my oldest was 7 I had taken the then just two of them to JC Penney for a holiday shoot. About ten minutes into it the girl said "smile" for the hundreth time and my daughter exclaimed at the top of her lungs "I forgot how!" Then she cried! AHH photo's! Yours came out really great! <3
ReplyDeletethat made my day........kids are fun and well, I think you should collage those photos and hang in your home-y home, home. she is a doll, love the folded arms picture of her.
ReplyDeletelove,
kara
TOOO FUNNY! I love that plastic surgery smile...cracks me up everytime:)
ReplyDeleteI love it. You guys have a beautiful family, and I can tell you rarely have a dull moment. Great pics :-)
ReplyDeleteI am in LOVE with these pics! Ruby, Ruby... what can I say?
ReplyDeleteI am still chuckling...love your kids! Blessings to all of you!
ReplyDeleteAdorable! Thanks for stopping by my blog yesterday!
ReplyDeleteYour blog is great!
Federica
Priceless!!!
ReplyDeleteSooo fun! I love all the tries at the family photo and their personalities shinning through. Lovely family you have.
ReplyDeletehow cute - LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteour easter family photos (when i was a kid) usually involved 4 of us standing, smiling, while courtney's exiting the frame, balling... i mean red faced, tear streaked, mouth wide open screaming kind of balling.
i just thought you needed to know that:)
have a good one!
I'm glad you didn't do the photo shoot. Those pictures are priceless! I would frame some of those.
ReplyDeleteHaha, oh my goodness these are too cute.
ReplyDeletethis cracks me up. I think we have something in common: children who wont cooperate with pictures. Yesterday I posted a pic on my blog where all the ADULTS are smiling sweetly and the CHILDREN...well...
ReplyDeleteSo, you aren't alone...I think you should frame some too. They have so much personality!
These pictures just cracked me up. They are PERFECT! I adore the expressions on the kids faces. So fun and so much better than perfect smiles. You can't always capture bewilderment in such a dramatic way. ;-)
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a nice Easter!
-FringeGirl
I adore these photos! Seriously so cute!!!! The kids all looked just precious.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh - I was laughing out loud! This is so my life too!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I'm sitting at the kitchen table alone and cracking up out loud! The pics are adorable, but your commentary makes it the best! Thanks for sharing. :)
ReplyDeleteSo funny! Can't stop smiling. I'm in agreement with others that the grudge photo is frame-worthy. The story behind the photo shoot is far better than getting a "perfect" shot.
ReplyDeleteIt's darn near impossible for me to get a great shot of all four of my kiddos. I now go in expecting at least one grumpy expression or pained look and usually it's my oldest!
Holy sweetness! I think we'll cut Cory a break on this one. What a lovely way to start an Easter morning.
ReplyDeletehe did pretty good for having to get three in the photos, I can't even get my one to stand still! The plastic surgery smile kills me, too funny! they look very cute all dolled up!
ReplyDeleteThose are great! Silas seems to be fitting in just great too:)
ReplyDeletewell, i just watched my cat hack up a hairball, so you can imagine my thrill at finding your photos!
ReplyDeleteHA HA HA HA HA and hoop-dee-do!
your family is great! thanks for sharing. i might pee my pants!
Hilarious!! Sounds a lot like our day!
ReplyDeleteAww what an adorable photoshoot!
ReplyDeleteI read your blog today because it makes me smile, not with a plastic surgery kind of smile, but smile. she's precious. they're all precious. Thanks for making my day.
ReplyDeletebtw, my youngest looks like we torture him every day in pictures. out of picts, never stops smiling or laughing.
have a super week, enjoy the buttercups.
That was so hilarious!! esp. the quick change in facial expressions on all of them!! =)
ReplyDeleteToo fun... Hope Silas did ok for his first church service!?! =)
those are the funniest pictures EVER! Those kids are darn lucky to have you as their mom! Melaine :)
ReplyDeleteHow precious for his first Sunday to be Easter - I love these pics. Beautiful babies.
ReplyDeleteThese are so cute!!!
ReplyDeleteI love all the pictures! Great job on getting those facial expressions!!! Too funny!
Take Care,
Maria
Nice photos! (That's all I got to say) Can't wait to meet the little guy!
ReplyDeleteHey, good for you that you at least got them dressed and went to church! I was so off this year. We loved Jesus from home in last years clothes and flip flops. I lost my Easter mojo. I guess some years are just like that.
ReplyDeleteI think those are the best Easter pics I have seen yet. Their sweet faces are so stinkin' funny and gave me a good chuckle!
Awesome photos! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteoh how sweet the pictures are!! They made my day :) your children are adorable. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDelete~ Calu
Your family is fabulously unique and beautiful. You need a picture with the grown-ups in it too!! :-)
ReplyDeleteSo adorable...And I was saying she was practicing her ballet...seeing them consecutively is a hoot!
ReplyDeleteThis may have been the funniest post I have read in weeks. That was laugh-out-loud, and then laugh-out-loud-again-HILARIOUS.
ReplyDeleteI heart Ruby!!!! She's hilarious.
ReplyDeleteo this make me laugh!!! i teach 3 and 4 year olds and must say that cory captured the essence of this stage beautifully (couldn't have done it without the precious ruba tuba of course!) chuckle!
ReplyDeletei am convinced that this is the motivation behind photoshop. i cannot, for the life of me, get one pic with all five billion of my children simultaneously looking like well-adjusted human beings. but i photoshop someone's head in and bend a grimace into a smile and lasso out some bunny ears and VOILA. happy family.
