Before:

After:
If you had told me the day would come that I would pine for yellow, I might very well have slapped you.
Or at least pinched you kind of hard.
I have never been a yellow person.
Well, that's not true.
I suffered from a mad case of jaundice as an infant.

The truth is, I'm still not what I would call a yellow girl.
I'm bluesier.
But, something is waking up inside me.
I don't think it's boredom.
It might be a little of The Grass is Always Yellower.
But mostly, it's my soul crying out for new life and the sunshine that brings it.
Ok fine. It's boredom.
But cut me some slack.
I paid my dues to blue and white. They'll always be my homies.
The time has come to play the field a bit.

I'm in love. I need cool knobs. Mine are all hideous, but I have a LOT of brass and yellow eighties knobs to replace. I don't know if I can make such a big commitment.
ReplyDeleteI secretly pine for extremely crazy knobs. Anthro is my favorite for knob browsing. I dream big dreams there. GO TEAM YELLOW!
Funny because I linked up with Mellow Yellow Monday today...you must have been tuned in and didn't even know it.
ReplyDeletecongrats on your curtain mention!!
ReplyDeleteI have always been a lover of yellow. Pale, sweet, happy yellow. I always hated blue! I think this may be due to the fact that my older sister had an obsession with blues. She's built 2 homes. They always have blue walls, blue carpet, blue, blue. She just replaced her carpet with...you guessed it..new blue carpet! Looks just like the stuff from 1995.
But now..I LOVE blue! So strange.
Hope you had a lovely weekend!!
I love yellow so very much, and yet I can't have any in the house. It's weird. The house rejects it. I painted a room yellow and had to immediately repaint it a warm fall color. But, my garden is filled with yellow - and I like the song Mellow Yellow - and I LOVE those k-nobs. I like saying 'k' - nobs. It's fun. Live wuhven. Mmmhmmm...and I will be there Wednesday. xo
ReplyDeleteI'm a blue and white gal too but I love a touch of yellow.
ReplyDeleteYou are such a super star! YAY for you and your napkin window! LOVE it. And this. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this : )
ReplyDeleteAnd you. Love, love, love you and your gray t-shirt wearing self!
Did I tell you what court sheets are?
These blue sheets the judge gives us to tell us when our kid is coming back to court. I always fold them up and lose them in the abyss of my purse.
welcome to the dark er, I mean the color side. Our furniture wears it's colors proudly. Pink, yellow, orange...we's crazy for color. It's a party up in here. PS I's buy those white knobs though!
ReplyDeleteYou mean you've been hoarding those beauties for years??? C'mon!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I went to the J Crew outlet today in Edinburg and they now carry the CrewCuts line there too! You've been warned.
They are indeed lovely.
ReplyDeleteBut won't they get grimy in all the ridges? (Sorry. Can't help myself.)
Was a yellow hearted girl for a long time but now I've switched over to the blue side. I'm always true to green. I'll never diss that relationship.
ReplyDeleteWoo...that price sure ain't gonna leave you feelin' blue!
ReplyDeleteNice knobs!
: )

I LOVE yellow! I just painted my new kitchen yellow! :) woohoo! Those are awful purty, FPFG!
ReplyDeleteI am falling in love with yellow again. I just picked up a yellow as it gets can of spray paint. Hunting that perfect accessory to hit it.
ReplyDeleteI've been a warm and woodsy colour girl almost my whole life. There must be something in the air. I too am craving yellows and aquas and chartreuse... bright happy colours. We also need to buy a sofa. I am seriously having to talk myself out of buying a teal sofa. It's so pretty, but I fear the love affair just won't last.
ReplyDeleteAll I have ever been able to afford from Anthro is cutie knobs!! I have a collection of the!
ReplyDeleteHeath bars + Gray T-shirts = Perfect. Maybe sweatpants, too.
ReplyDeletestart playing "Here Comes The Sun" now, I foresee more yellow making an appearance.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the feature!
New knobs certainly help to brighten up a room and at $1.95 a piece?! What a steal!
ReplyDeleteLove the yellow. Your posts are always such fun to read!!
ReplyDeleteLove the detail, love the knobs!
ReplyDeleteadorable!!!
ReplyDeletei am not a yellow lover, not too much. but the need arises, more often than i ever expected, for my life to be sunnied up with flecks of lemon or dandelion.
and p.s. FANCYpants, on the nester? holla.
xo
I love the colors of fall, but these knobs look wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI am pretty sure I was with you on that PSS lark! I still am itching to use mine, perhaps soon!
ReplyDeleteYes! Step on over to the yellow side. It's beautiful over here! I love looking at white, blue and gray but can't live with it day in and day out. I have to have yellow, red and aqua. My kitchen has been yellow for over 12 years and I'm still not ready to change it.
ReplyDeleteI'm like Jayme. Have to say 'k'-nobs. My husband was commenting on the 'g'-nats at our fish fry last night...
I LOVE that shade of yellow and use it as much as possible. Maybe you would feel uncomfortable with as much as I have. I even wear it! Yikes. Love the knobs, and plan to visit Anthro in Chicago on our trip this summer. I'm hoping for some goodies!
ReplyDeletethere's always one thing that really makes me jealous in blogland. it's when people go to anthro and get good deals. or just getting to go to anthro in the first place. homeschooling really puts a damper on my shopping. it seems like everyone has been there recently and i'm starting to feel like i'll die if i don't!!
ReplyDeletereally cute knobs though! i love yellow!
i'm a yellow girl. blue and yellow get along quite nice i think;) curious about how that book is coming along. been thinking about you lately friend.
ReplyDeleteCUTE knobs! But what did you do with the old ones!?? I like, no LOVE them too! I want to buy them if they are up for sale!!!
ReplyDeleteI am definitely a yellow girl...obviously:-) Love those knobs. About time you came around:-)
ReplyDeleteDue to negligence on my part, I totally forgot to mention that I have sent you 100 mini candy bars! They were sent last night...9PM CST.
ReplyDeleteVirtually, of course. ;-)
I'm loving yellow right now, too! And gray and white stripes for some random reason.
ReplyDeleteConfession: I've never been to Anthropology = Tragedy in it's greatest form.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your boredom turned out prettier than mine. I have a marigold yellow bathroom that more than slightly resembles urine. And it's the color of urine while taking vitamins. There is nothing merry about it. If only I had started with knobs. You're my hero.
You look so 1993 in that pic.
ReplyDeleteI may be jealous.
Ok, so I am jealous.
There.
I said it.
Skinny Minnie.
