It's buzz-cut season.
Calvin doesn't know a summer without one.
Dude was blessed with an abundance of thick hair and plentiful sweat glands.
It's old hat to him, as you can tell.
After much deliberation we decided to go all-in and buzz the Little Guy, too.

We were on the fence because while he shares the same hair/sweat ratio as his brother, he's also got a wonky-shaped head.
No offense, Siley.
In the end, practicality won, as it typically does with the men-folk.
I was thrilled to see that he was feeling cooperative, this being his first buzz-cut and all.
Which turned into... The Chicken Dance?
Maybe something a bit Jay-Z inspired?
The Macarena?
All I'm saying is, homeboy had never felt such freedom.

I love buzz cuts on little boys. I buzzed my son every year at the start of summer....
ReplyDeleteVery, very cute! Nothing like a buzz cut for hot weather. My son had a "bowl cut" until he was about 6 and decided he wanted to be like his dad and his cousins. I must admit, I cried when those white blonde strands hit the floor and I do mean floor. My husband isn't an al fresco hair buzzer. He still cuts his hair every summer before the hot weather is upon us.

ReplyDeleteI am cracking up!! He is just too cute for words!!
ReplyDeleteMiniature beard? Hilarious.
ReplyDeleteI believe the dance that he was yearning to bring forth was The Safety Dance.
He looks adorable with his newly shaved head!
Calvin looks fab, yet serious. As if the weight of the world was on his shoulders during the haircut.
Cuteness quotient has reached 1,000%!
I am on eo those who love a buzz cut on lil boys.My G'sons sport one every year!
ReplyDeleteWas nice to see Siley doing the that tickles dance:)
~~HUGS~
I'm thinking there must be a little Hula in there too. Get that boy a tiki torch!
ReplyDeleteWe're getting ready for a buzz-fest around here, too. Tis the season!
Ah the summer buzz. My sweaty head boys would normally have them by now but we are so far from summer here in Idaho. Secretly I'm a little glad because I finally decided to see what would happen if I let Graham's hair grow out and guess what? He has curls like his mama! They're so cute! I don't want to buzz them! But I do love little boys with their summer hair!
ReplyDeleteoh lordy be! you and him and those photos are cracking me up something fierce tonight.
ReplyDeleteMy husband has buzzed his hair every summer since we've been married. He must have the same hair/sweat ratio as your boys. :)
ReplyDeleteSiley is too cute for words. What a dancing fool!
I couldn't have describe Calvin's face any better than Tina, above, did.
Your children are beautiful.
Thanks for sharing. It put a smile on my face.
The pictures are gorgeous, and I love your funny captions...what a great blog! I'm a new follower!

I just fell in love with Siley. Head over heels. That giggly tickley face just did me in.
ReplyDeletePracticality usually wins out for me, too. And I'm of the female gender. But, I'm a mom, so that should explain it all.
ReplyDeleteLoved the all out giggle fit. They're so much sweeter than the other types of fits they can throw.
Such a beautiful family , such a loving home :)
ReplyDeleteSweet happiness and freedom.
ReplyDeleteLove the pics.

All this time that sweet Siley has just wanted a hair cut. You could have saved your self a month of Sundays in grief.

hahahahah. The macarena....That made me laugh.
ReplyDeleteWe've buzzed Ethan lots of times, but Sam would look totally weird without his Hobbity locks. I think it might be the weird shaped head for him too!
These pictures cracked me up.
They look sooooo handsome!! But my question is, why Cor had to wear boots for the job??
ReplyDeleteLaughing. At least you know what S will look like when he has hairy shoulders as an adult. Good stuff.
ReplyDeleteseriously.so.cute!
ReplyDeleteOh he was so so good! Miraculous that you got through the whole buzz without Silas changing his mind! (speaking from experience here.) LOVE a buzz even on the wonkiest of little boy heads - so cute on both your boys!
ReplyDeleteHaha absolutely adorable! Looks like Siley loved it :)
ReplyDeleteHe looks so handsome...glad he enjoyed it to..other wise it would have been all sorts of crazy!!!
ReplyDeletewe just did the SAME thing 'round our parts! :)
ReplyDeleteawesome...wish we could have a buzz cut party;) that's not going to happen.
ReplyDeleteAhh, you've done it now :) My son is 21 and I'm still the only he will let cut his hair. I used to be a hair stylist (for a day or two) but apparently he never got the memo that I dont do that anymore:0) Looks great by the way!
ReplyDeleteI'm giggling out loud too! So unbelievably cute!
ReplyDeleteMakes me say....ahhhhhhh. Looks so refreshing. Like air conditioning for your head.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie! Bet you can't stop touching it now huh? My oldest is SO headed for this after we get through with memorial weekend with Nana, who insists that we never buzz his hair event when it is so thick his face is drenched in sweat.
ReplyDeleteOh that Siley! Such great photos! He's such a looker.
