The Particular Problem of Stripey Flats
Six months ago, I whittled my embarrassingly vast wardrobe down to nine paltry items for thirty days, on journey with Jen Hatmaker’s 7.
Today, I stomped around town in pink and orange striped flats, bought for a song at our local grocery store.
These flats encapsulate my inner struggle so perfectly that I’m tempted to leave well enough alone and let them do the talking. But in the end, no one can be expected to concentrate when it comes to talking grocery store shoes – no matter how cute they are.

less me, more Him. yesss! that's what we all need.
ReplyDeleteI loved your whole post.
ReplyDeleteAnd I LOVE those shoes.
Love this post and LOVE (or as you'd say sometimes J'Adore!) those shoes!
ReplyDeleteI had a severe shopping problem in my early 20's. It was after my mom died. Needless to say, I was trying to fill a void. I went from having perfect credit to having credit cards at Saks, Nordstroms, Bloomingdales, Macy's..etc and thought nothing of buying $120 pants because "these are really nice black pants."
I overcame all of this when I went broke and couldn't recall a year later what I bought for all of that $$ I was paying back. It took a few years, but I just stopped going to malls. To this day, I hardly hit the mall. Of course, I do buy things, but it's better for me to just choose a day and tell myself "Today I'm buying jeans and that's all." and I stick to it. Today I SCORED a pair of American Eagle recycled jeans for...$6.99! They fit perfectly and I am happy.
I want those shoes. Very happy, my friend.
Oy Vey.
xo
They are Fantabulous! xox

ReplyDeleteI loved your post. And your stripey flats. Keep dragging me along on this journey of yours, FPFG. Ignore the kicking and screaming, just keep speaking the truth here. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your shoes. The purple strip is a nice final touch. More shoes need to be the color orange. Orange is the coolest color.
